I just arrived in Madrid yesterday, it was my first trip overseas and it was strange that none of person checked my passport when I left off the Madrid¡¯s airport. A local handsome staff named edu went to meet me in the airport. Even as my worry, english is exactly the most difficult problem for me. On the way to the office, I had to talk with him in unskillful english and I offen couldn¡¯t hear him very well. I feel nervous. I had learned english for ten years from 1985 to 1994, but I gave up on learning English a long time ago, now I can¡¯t communicate very well in english. It¡¯s too abjectiv! So I decide to write the diary in english and my english level will become better and better ,though the mistakes will be occurred constantly. Later,I will correct the mistake of the content that be wrritten.

Last noon, four spanish and three chinese include me went to have a lunch near the office together, both of the waiter of the restaurant are male, the cost of food is expensive ,the taste is not bad. I feel spanish would like to spend a lot of time to have a lunch. Last evening, Edu sent me to go home , a big house located at the amara 10, I didn¡¯t find any restaurant except several bar near my house after I had walked a long time. Finally,I had to buy some food in a small shore near a gas station. In the shore, I asked a man where is my house in the map that be brought from china,he told me a place, but I found it was wrong after I asked edu and ana who is a secretary of the spanish office today. Generally spanish don¡¯t speak english.

Last morning, I went work by taxi because I didn¡¯t know how could I take by bus or subway, the price of taxi is 1.35 EURO$ basic and 0.65 EURO$ per kilometer. I spent 8.4 EURO$ to my office, it¡¯s too expensive. Tomorrow, I must go work by bus or subway, so I spent 4.68 EURO$ to buy a map and asked my colleague, now I know I can take by bus 21th at GARA or take by subway at Arturo Soria. In the office, I made some calls to my family and friends that used IP card, its price is 30 EURO$ that can be used in 1500minutes. Comparing with the price of telephone call in china,it is cheap. I met another local staff named jose who is passional and friendly, he said he was learning chinese and speak ¡°hello¡± in chinese very well. The language feazed me and I became more and more anxious, although I know I can¡¯t make a great progress in a short time, I must learn hard everyday and hope to find a good way of learning english.Whole of the day, I did nothing except learning english because I had not formally taken in hand the job in Spanish office. I must grasp the time to study.

Last evening, when I went home by my colleague car , I saw a restaurant named china peania near around my house. The day before yesterday , I didn¡¯t find it because I didn¡¯t walked in this way. I decided to have a supper in this restaurant, all the staff of the restaurant is Zhejiang chinese, I guess their homeland is Wenzhou. Though it is a chinese restaurant, but the chinese dish was not found. I spent 11.65 EURO$ to eat two dishes£¬a bowl of rice and a bottle of water. The taste didn¡¯t compare with any large restaurants in ShenZhen, but I was basically satisfied with it but the price.

So I decided to eat in this restaurant for my supper, all the staff from the restaurant is Zhejiangnese, they suposed come from Wenzhou city.There are no traditional Chinese food even though they called themselves Chinese restaurant. I spent 11.65 EURO$ on two dishes, a bowl of rice and a glass of water. Taste and Price are not competitive with any large restaurants in ShenZhen but I still satisfied in a standard way.

I went to work by subway at Arturo Soria station where I walked for twenty minutes from my home. The price of the subway is 1.05€ a time and 5.35€ ten times, so I bought ten times ticket. It was uncredible and impossible in china that a women booking clerk smoked when she was working in the work room. The subway in Madrid is more intricate that it has eight lines. I take in 4^th line. It is different from the subway in china that the station's name is not broadcasted , so I must gave my attention to the station name that the train stoped every time. Fortunately, I didn¡¯t passed the Colon station and arrived at my office for a few minutes when I left the station. I still did the same thing as yesterday except review two documents that was wrote by Edu. To my scare, I didn¡¯t understand the document well and many new word was occurred. My confidence was beat again when I had a lunch together with some spanish because I found I couldn¡¯t hear them more and more. On the afternoon, I downloaded the topic of learning english from wwenglish forum and made a study plan. I hope I can hold on.

On the evening, we had a dinner in a china restaurant named XinYa. The tasted of food was very good so much as be better than some restaurants in ShenZhen. It was only my pleasure when I arrived in Madrid so far.

It is Saturday Yesterday, I wake up at 10 o¡¯clock . All day, I did two things only, shopping and learning english. On the noon, I bought something such as meat,egg,vegetable, cooking oil and so on in a market where located at the Gollao station, There are plenty of food and goods including all kinds of chines condiment. On the way to the market, it was first time that I watched the building of Madrid which was beautiful and classical. I decided to cook for myself on the evening, the soup with chop and radish was done at 22 o¡¯clock, I ate up.

I made a plan of learning english after I refered to the document which was downloaded from wwenglish forum. Every day, I had to study four hours at least in off-duty time according to the plan.

I was uncomfortable on Sunday that I had a dingy ache. Perhaps I eat too meat on Saturday evening. But I hold on learning english else. On Monday, we would have a meet in english. I felt nervous so I need prepare some words as following:

Hello everybody. I am glad to join the Spanish office. But I¡¯m sorry that I can¡¯t speak in english very well, I believe I can make a great progress in one month. During this time, please pardon me for inconvenience to you. Three things will be done in this week. Firstly, I will commence the process of job handover from Frank. Secondly, I will make the budget and layout of spain office for next year. Thirdly, I will be familiar with my job as soon as possible. Please take good care of me, thank you!

Tomorrow, I would take over the job step by step. It's more and more afflictive!

Could I make a little progess in english? I begun to have a new week with this question. Weekly meeting was defered to tomorrow, so I communicated with Frank about two hours. It was too many things that I need know as soon as possible. I would deal with the day-to-day operation under rather a heavy pressure as my english is very poor else, so I had to reduce the time of sleep. Faint! And I found I talk with the local staff in english less and less. It was not good news. I must change it.

Today I talk about learning english with Frank. He said it must be not study hard if you can¡¯t speak in english very well. It¡¯s no short cut. So I must hold on.
